Post Exam Post Mortem

Yea thts wat I like to call it… Post Mortem…!!!
I did this last year as well on my MSN blog… tho this time I will delve into more details than I did last year. For those who dint get arnd to seeing it, I plan to analyse every exam and subject and professor and reach a verdict on the Sem.

Starting wid HRM. At the start of the sem I thot this was the onli subject where we could expect some clarity wid Nitin actually starting off well. But then we ended up wid a lot of time wasted on unwanted stuff, lot of lec time spent in the corridors luking for a class. And the project we worked on… no comments on how tht was executed and the debacle wid tht altogether. And the paper..!!! OMG!!! I expected length, but definitely I dint expect the university to test us on stamina more than skill. Skill in selecting the questions was more thn required, with vague questions like short notes on whole chapters, but the stamina to write even a portion of wat we knw totally put me off track midway. My verdict : Average. And I must mention tht Nitin dint even bother wid helping us out wid imp questions (tho the pattern was more a non-important question pattern)

Next is SSM. An outright disaster frm the start to the end. Wid no guidance frm the beg to the end… Kripa was our lifeline at the end of the sem. Venky onli helped wid our presentations, which were again no clue on how the theory was. And an abysmally set paper with no set questions… I was irritated at the end of the day. And I was up all nite studing for tht dumb paper and ppl who had spent onli a few hrs on it fared just as well as I did..!!! My verdict : ABYSMAL!!! not even worth more space here

Next is Logistics. Personally, I found the teaching style of both our teachers very amateurish… as tho we were 5th grade kids giving exams for the first time. Nonetheless, I will have to say our syllabus was over hyped, with ppl getting tensd jsut for the heck of it. But I luvd the part of the sem wen ppl were scrambling for classes for the numericals..n onli one very dumb numerical appeared in the paper. But the non predictable questions were not much of a shock after the 1st 2 papers… so yea my verdict will be : Above Average.

FM. Mebe its just my paranoia wid a/c and all related subjects, but I started the year wid an apprehension abt this sub. True, it wasnt as hard as I had expected it to get, since I had my own little tricks to help me out of situations. But, honestly, we spend 4 months in the sem doin practice problems, and onli one month wid the theory. And we get onli 20 marks options worth of problems!!! True, even the theory and concepts were superbly atrangi… but Sapna’s style of teaching has made me ready to cope wid all atrangi situations.. ;). Nandu… I seriously feel cannot handle BMS, since we are to energetic and non rule bound for his taste. But a nice experience overall… esp wen u see the empty train at 5 48.. :D. My verdict : Average but could hv been muccch better.

Co operatives. The icing on the cake this sem. It startd off as a big flop, wid him nt getting students to attend and tht unintentional mass bunk. And then the lecs getting canned and the piling tension.. we decided to let him take a break and left for own planet. But I hv to admit if ne paper can be described as AWESOME it was this one. Every concept familiar, every question familiar… it was truly the most amazzzing paper in this exam. My verdict : SUPERB!! even after a slow start.

RM. Another cakewalk. And every1 will admit Ramki was quite an entertainer himself. I enjoyd his lecs… and also his paper. Quite straightforward, and manageable. Tho the case study… neva mind. My verdict : GREAT.

For now theres not much more to life than the 100 mark project, which is due on the 11th, NMAT on 10th and XAT in Jan. So, in my nx blog I will def be writing abt sum of tht as well. For now… tk care n write ur exams well ppl.
Last noters – Sumeet dnt drown in Goa, Raj dont die wid tht skydive u plan during Christmas and Tammy… whr r u????
And I luv the music from Salaam-E-Ishq.. frm the title track to every other track!!!Great work Shankar Ehsaan Loy!!!

Ciao till after my exams.

Baramati Rocked

Yeah well, thts an understatement as well. It was over amazing!!!! All the 3 days at Baramati were soooo awesome, and all of us frm class were together and having sooo much fun tht the work we did during the day barely hit us. For those who dint cum to Baramati, I’ll gv u a blow-by-blow a/c of wat happened. The bus journey was barely fun, since we were energetic onli in the beginning and later on, we kinda became bored of the same uncomfortable position in the bus. The onli highlight during the travel was the climb on the bus, when Sapna Mam actually got super wild at us, n Malki was damn cool abt us on the bus!!!

Neway, we started with the Dairy, after which I vowed NEVER to touch ne of the packaged milk again. The Dairy stank of the milk (obviously), but the Lassi and the Chaas smelt a lot better. After the Dairy, we went for lunch after which we went over to a place for a lecture on Agri Marketing. Thn, we went over to Rohit’s FarmArea for this Agri tourism visit – and it was simply amazing. Quite, Lush green – it was sumthin we Mumbaiites barely c. And the highlight was the Bullock Cart Ride, with the sugarcane. And I still cant figure out hw Bhavesh n Avinash ate up their gannas soo fast!!! After tht, we went to the highlight of the day – the Dahi Handi. The challenge tht it was, kudos to the guys for getting it in 3 gos (special mention of our Batallion leader Dwarka who marshalled the whole thing). And after a looong day, we headed to Rohit’s Farmhouse for Dinner. And if u thot this was whr our day ended…u r wrong. The party tht followed rocked!!! And it was onli arnd 1 tht we packed up for the hotel. Even after checking in, our “deeds” on the terrace till 2 30 are too censored to mention here.

Next morning we continued our visits to sum more places. In the evening, we visited the Rural Market, which was an eye opener. And Rohit with the Pagdi was just amazzzzing.(I’ll put tht pic up in a while if I find it…). Thn we headed to Rohit’s for dinner, in traditional attire. And after an amazing dinner, great fun with the teachers after dinner and a lonnng way into the nite we headed back to the Hotel, onli for another nite of partying, n this time we partied all the way till 3 in the morning.

And thn the craziness began. Guys screaming all over, foam sprays, teachers stepping into ppls room at 4 30…kinda unsettling at the last moment, but fun nonetheless. Next morning, we were really very subdued, obv as an after effect of the nite before, and tht fact tht every1 hadnt slept the nite (or had slept an hr or so…). Still, we saw stuff, took very little in, but stayed awake almost 50% (averaging all students)… And thn we headed back for bby.

Nt a lot, many of u wud say, but to us, the trip was an amazing experience. Not onli cuz we had soo much fun, but also bcuz, we also learnt a bit. N being our grad yr, it was a golden chance the whole class together – and it was amazing.

Thanks a tonne to Rohit, for getting the whole thing together. All our faculty, for cumin along (or we wudnt be allowed to go…), and yeah – to the whole batch for making the experience soo special.

Adios till my nxt blog…

College finally begins…

I was bored of my vacations to the extent tht I actually started studying in da middle for a mundane exam due nxt month. I did everything I cud…including getting back to my guitar, writing, and even catching up on muvies. But eventually a month into my vacs I was as bored as bored cud get (perhaps bcuz I aint used to a full fledged vacation since 9th grade).
So getting back to college was actually sumthn I was lukin fwd to…even tho its my last yr n I knw tht all our teachers wud b scaring the hell out of us. Nonetheless, college meant back to a routine (as erratic as lecs at 7 and 8 in da morn), sumthn to do (incl this heist we r planning at a bank) and more than nethn ppl to hang out wid (special ref to da ppl who can accompany me to da library as well).
True its been a week since college started, but nothin very exciting tuk place at all…apart frm da fact tht we hv almost 100% attendance in all lecs. Surprisingly, every1 has taken TY as seriously as they shud, already having taken up classes for various subjects (read: Jai Mata Di et all). I was one of the few who hasnt taken classes (n I seriously hope tht others join dis elite gang) but nt bcuz I m smart or sumthn but just bcuz I dnt get time to get to tuitions at all (unless tutions r starting in Harbour Line Trains, in which case I can happily enrol).
So now I m back to my routing of projects n presentations n utter timepass…n I can happily say TY is no more unnerving than FY or SY and tht college is def da place to b for me (wen i attend tht is). More college news cumin up later….so ketchup (gujju catch up) wid me later.
